Intimate Kirkstall Abbey Wedding Ceremony

Emma and Greg had their intimate Kirkstall Abbey wedding in Leeds on a sunny April afternoon. With it being only April, they had their ceremony indoors in the Rose Room. The ceremonial arch was decorated with flowers and the old architecture of the Abbey was the perfect backdrop.

A great tip for people having a registrar led ceremony and not a celebrant, if you still want to tell your story of the two of you, you can do this by having someone do a reading. The reading can be a nice snippet of your story together and a good in between of what a celebrant can do for you. It’s always nice to tell your guests your story, and I loved hearing theirs (I may have shed a few tears!).

Couple Shots Around Kirkstall Abbey Ruins

As the backdrop for the couple shots, we of course used the stunning ruins of Kirkstall Abbey. There are so many great spots around the abbey for photos, and we used the front of the Abbey for both confetti shot and some group shots afterwards. I’ve alway wanted to shoot at Kirsktall Abbey since I’m based so closeby, and my dream had come true!

I especially loved Emma’s custom green dress by Whimsical Lace which complimented the green of the scenery so perfectly. Paired with Greg’s tartan kilt they both looked amazing.

Reception in the Rose Room at Kirkstall Abbey

Their intimate reception took place back in the Rose Room where they enjoyed a buffet and some cake, of course! Here are some lovely words from the couple themselves about their wedding photography:

Claire was the perfect photographer for our wedding. She really helped me feel at ease since I don’t love having my photo taken normally. The final photos were absolutely beautiful and exactly what I wanted.
