A Day to Remember: Whitworth Art Gallery Wedding in Manchester

When it comes to incredible wedding celebrations, Emma & Conor’s special day at the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester truly stands out. From the music to the energy, everything about this wedding was uniquely them. The Replacements at the ceremony, Talking Heads for the first dance, and Chappell Roan for the party? Absolute perfection.

A Celebration in the Heart of Manchester

E+C’s wedding took place on a vibrant weekend in Manchester, coinciding with Manchester Pride, Leeds Festival, and even a New Order gig happening nearby. Despite all the excitement in the city, there was nowhere else I’d rather have been than witnessing these two tie the knot. The energy was unmatched, and their friends and family brought their A-game to make the day unforgettable.

The morning started at the Kimpton Clocktower, where Emma got ready in a stunning hotel room with a giant window (a dream for a bridal prep space). Meanwhile, Conor and his groomsmen took to the streets for some photos at the iconic Peveril of the Peak pub. I couldn’t resist capturing a Beatles-inspired shot as they strolled back to the hotel, and using Manchester’s timeless charm to get some fun groomsman portraits.

The Ceremony and Reception at Whitworth Art Gallery

The couple arrived at the Whitworth Art Gallery in a bright blue campervan from Chase The Sun, setting the tone for a day full of fun and personality. The ceremony itself was intimate and heartfelt, with confetti flying as the couple made their way out to cheers from their loved ones.

The reception at the Whitworth was nothing short of breathtaking. With its floor-to-ceiling glass windows, it felt like dining in a forest in the sky—an ethereal setting that perfectly complemented the love in the room. Speeches followed, and as always, I found myself shedding a few happy tears behind the camera.

A Perfect End to a Perfect Day

The evening wrapped up with a first dance and a touching father-daughter dance, made even more special by Conor and his best man performing live with guitar and vocals. It was a magical end to a day that truly reflected E&C’s personalities: fun, heartfelt, and full of joy.

If you’re planning a wedding in Manchester, the Whitworth Art Gallery is a venue that ticks all the boxes. Stunning architecture, natural light, and a central location—it’s perfect for a day as special as this.

Where do I even start!? Claire was an absolute dream to have as our photographer. She is incredibly talented, very responsive, and really friendly. This is a great combination as we are over the moon with the photos we have received so far and we had a really nice relationship with Claire over the year leading up to the wedding. She was able to keep up with all the hectic details of our day very well. Her service feels very personable, almost like having a friend at your side but then she is also able to go absolutely unnoticed whilst capturing special moments. Her photography style is really unique and the pictures bring out real emotion and personality. If you’re looking for a photographer I’ll save you time and say just go for Claire. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you so much again!
