Leeds Civic Hall Wedding Photography

If you are into wedding photography that feels relaxed, fun and a little bit chaotic in the best way, Aine and Kynan’s wedding absolutely delivered. Their wedding right in the heart of Leeds had everything I love to capture. Big laughs, brilliant light and a couple who were fully up for doing things their own way. When they said they wanted photos eating pizza and jumping in a photobooth, I knew we were going to get on just fine.

Aine started her morning at The Queens Hotel Leeds in a gorgeous suite with a balcony overlooking the city. As someone who does Leeds wedding photography week in and week out, that view never gets old. From there we headed to Leeds Civic Hall for their ceremony in the Banquet Suite. The huge windows flood the space with natural light, which is basically a photographer’s love language.

Pizza, Photobooths and City Centre Wandering

Aine had her bridesmaids in blue dresses as her ‘something blue’ which I loved. Such a lovely idea! She made all of the florals herself, I genuinely thought a professional florist had done them and was super impressed. After the ceremony, we took a wander through Leeds city centre for portraits. This is one of my favourite parts of being a wedding photographer. I know Leeds and particularly the Civic Hall like the back of my hand, so I know where all the good spots are for fun photos. No stiff posing, just the two of them having a laugh and taking it all in.

We then made a very important stop at Belgrave Music Hall for pizza from Dough Boys Leeds. Wedding attire and slices of pizza are a top tier combo – as long as you don’t get it on your dress… We then followed that with some photobooth shots which made for some of the most joy filled photos of the day.

Fearns Leeds Dock Wedding Photographer

The celebrations carried on at Fearns Leeds Dock, which is such a good shout if you are planning a reception in Leeds city centre after getting married at Civic Hall. There is loads of space, great food and the perfect setup for a proper party without being too far from Civic Hall.

One of my favourite personal touches was their guest book. Guests signed a vinyl sleeve that will hold a custom record pressed with their wedding songs. Such a cool keepsake. The night finished with everyone on the dance floor thanks to The Wingmen, and yes I was singing along behind the camera as always.

Days like this are why I love being a Leeds wedding photographer so much. A brilliant couple, a city I adore and a wedding that felt completely, unapologetically them.

Claire was very professional and understood our vibe perfectly! We gave her creative freedom with some requests and she went along with them and made our vision come true!

Self described herself as a ninja and we couldn’t agree more as we hardly noticed she was there taking the best candid photos! She was great at coordinating every picture and helped us understand how to pose without feeling awkward (as we aren’t natural behind the camera!)

We couldn’t be happier with our photos they are absolutely perfect!
