Harriet and Tom tied the knot at the stunning Left Bank Leeds. Before the ceremony, Harriet got ready at the iconic Queens Hotel which is attached to Leeds train station. This is especially handy as it’s only one stop on the train from where Left Bank is. The room was lovely and had loads of space for Harriet, her mum and maid of honour. The best part was it had a balcony with the most amazing view of Leeds.
Tom met up with us at the hotel room for a first look on the balcony and some couple shots around town. We headed out of the Queens Hotel and made our way towards Millennium Square. There are loads of good spots around Leeds City Centre, especially near the art gallery where there are lots of great buildings and old architecture. We walked through the streets and got some shots and then headed towards Left Bank.
The ceremony was led by the wonderful Meg Senior. It was heartfelt and really helped everyone learn Harriet and Tom’s story from the beginning. I love humanist ceremonies as they are so much more personal than a registrar led ceremony. Registrars have to follow a script whereas with a celebrant they can make it into whatever you want it to be! The ceremony backdrop was a handmade wall of origami swans which added pops of colour to the venue.
The night kicked off with sparklers for the first dance, which really set the scene and added the perfect amount of atmosphere for a slow dance. Straight after Southwest Band got everyone dancing with loads of great tunes. The happy couple and their guests ended the night with a pickle bar made up of everything pickled instead of cake! All in all I had a great time capturing their day and I can’t wait to get married here myself next year. Enjoy!
