A Joy Filled Left Bank Leeds Wedding

Gabriella and Joseph’s wedding at Left Bank Leeds was one of those days that reminds me exactly why I love being a Leeds wedding photographer. It was actually my first time back at Left Bank since my own wedding there (yes I got married here too!), so it felt incredibly special from the moment I walked in. The soaring ceilings, the character of the building and the way the sunlight pours through the huge windows during the wedding breakfast creates pure magic for wedding photography.

Gabriella got ready with her bridesmaids at an Airbnb in Burley, which made me laugh because it is right near where I used to live as a student. Meanwhile Joseph and his groomsmen headed for a pint at the legendary Brudenell Social Club before the ceremony. We even stopped by one of their old houses for photos, which turned out to be near another of my former student homes. Leeds really is a small world sometimes.

A Personal Ceremony and a Packed Room

The ceremony was led by Gabriella’s aunt, a former actor, and she brought so much warmth and personality to the moment. There were definitely a few teary eyes in the room. After some portraits around the venue and a drinks reception in the sun, they were then announced into the wedding breakfast to Sit Down by James, which is honestly one of the best entrance song choices I have heard in a while. Does what it says on the tin!

Speeches took place in the pulpit beneath incredible streamers by Streamadelica, and the atmosphere in the room was amazing. You could feel just how loved these two are. As a Leeds wedding photographer, these are the moments I live for. Real emotion, huge laughter and families completely behind the couple.

Music, Emotion and an Epic Dance Floor

Their first dance was performed live by the brilliant The Afters, and it genuinely gave me goosebumps. The evening continued with a packed dance floor, big hugs and the kind of energy that makes you forget you have been on your feet all day.

Left Bank Leeds is such a special venue for a city wedding. Full of character, incredible light and so much space for personal touches. Gabriella and Joseph brought all the heart, all the fun and all the love. Bloody great wedding, bloody great people, bloody great day.

We reached out to Claire because we loved her relaxed documentary style photography. From the moment we had an initial call, she was so easy to talk to and really understood the vibe we were going for. On the day itself, she had a lovely calming presence and a lot of the time we didn’t even notice she as there (because she was documenting the special moments!). She was also so flexible and happy to flit between locations where Joe and I were getting ready.

We couldn’t be happier with the photos, ever since we got them we’ve looked through them everyday! Our guests have all commented how much they love them too. She captured the joyful happy energy of the day perfectly. Thank you so much Claire. We would recommend you to anyone!
