Nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of the Peak District, this Castleton Rotary Centre wedding became the canvas for Jenny and Nigel’s day of their dreams. Jenny and Nigel meticulously adorned every nook and cranny of the venue with a personal touch. From childhood photos that narrated their journey to an array of delectable cakes, a dance floor ready for disco fever, and a charming photo booth corner, it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully curated to reflect their love story. Overall, I had so much fun capturing this day and I’m so excited to share it with you!
Celebrant Meg Senior led the ceremony, weaving tales of love, commitment, and ‘lobster promises’. However, just as they were about to exchange vows, nature decided to join in and had other plans! The skies opened and rain started to come down heavy on the couple and their guests. The backup plan went into action, and everyone rushed to the tipi, chairs in tow. The ceremony continued with the (rather ASMR) pitter-patter of raindrops providing the soundtrack.
After a dinner of pies and mushy peas, the party shifted to the disco hall. A live band took the stage and the guests danced the night away, celebrating Jenny and Nigel’s love. The rain continued, and it was a day where it only enhanced the beauty of this Castleton Rotary Centre wedding. I captured some great images which would never of happened without the downpour. You should never shy away from rain on your wedding day. It can really add a layer of spontaneity to your images. Also, it is considered lucky!
