Colourful Couple Portraits Around The Calls
Alice and Grainne wanted something a little different for their couple shots at their Leeds Civic Hall wedding. I suggested that we have some portraits before the ceremony itself to ease some of the nerves and get on the right side of the sun since it was a winter wedding. We went down to The Calls where the huge ME&YOU mural by Anthony Burill adorns the streets, along with many other colourful walls and buildings. They made for some really great photos adding lots of colour to their gallery!

I have shot many ceremonies at Leeds Civic Hall, and they never fail to be so special. Since they tend to be smaller guest lists, they are always so intimate and full of emotion. The look on their faces as they were announced wife and wife said it all! I am always so happy I get to witness and capture this moment every time.
Why I Love Photographing Elopements
Elopements in the city centre are right up my street! There’s a lot less pressure on the couple than there is on a large wedding day, and you can have only your nearest and dearest there (or just your two witnesses!). I have even been a witness for about 10 different couples now. Getting hitched in this way is great for your photos too, there’s always so many unexpected moments, and loads of time to have a wander to get some portraits since your less likely to be under strict time restraints. I had so much fun shooting this elopement for Alice & Grainne. Here’s to many more weddings at Leeds Civic Hall!
