Kate and David’s wedding at Owen House Wedding Barn was such a joy to photograph. It was my first time shooting an Owen House Wedding Barn wedding, and I absolutely loved seeing it with fresh eyes. There is something special about discovering a venue for the first time as a photographer. You notice the light differently, you explore every corner, and you get excited about all the creative possibilities.
The main reception barn is such a vibe. It has the biggest disco ball I have ever seen, which instantly won me over. They also had quite possibly the biggest tray of tiramisu I’ve ever seen. They were not doing anything by halves! The space has that perfect mix of rustic charm and party energy, making it ideal for relaxed but seriously fun Cheshire wedding photography.
Kate and David got engaged in Italy and spend lots of their holidays there, so they wove an Italian theme throughout the day. Italian music played across the celebrations, which I was fully on board with. As a Dean Martin fan, I was thriving! It gave the whole day such a romantic, nostalgic feel.
One of my favourite features at Owen House Wedding Barn is the shooting gallery. Fairy lights, another disco ball and even a fog machine on wheels… it’s basically a creative playground! What more could you want? The couple practiced their first dance in there while I captured some magical portraits in the glowing light. It was one of those moments where everything just comes together beautifully.
The evening rolled into a packed dance floor with an incredible live band and all their favourite people around them. It was relaxed, full of laughter and completely them. From Italian inspired details to disco ball sparkle, this wedding had personality in abundance.
