The Priests House Skipton Wedding – Vintage Inspired

The Priest's House, Skipton ceremony area

An Autumnal The Priest’s House Wedding

Adam and Joanna’s wedding at The Priest’s House Skipton was such a special one for me. I have photographed a few Priest’s House Skipton weddings over the years and it genuinely never disappoints. The chapel is one of my favourite ceremony spaces to shoot in, with its huge windows and soft, glowing light that feels almost painterly. It is a dream setting for relaxed, natural wedding photography in North Yorkshire.

Adam and I actually studied together at Leeds Arts University, so capturing his wedding felt full circle. He is a brilliant photographer and a total film purist, passionate about traditional processes and craftsmanship. I will admit, photographing another photographer’s wedding always makes me a little nervous because I want to absolutely nail it. I shot a lot in black and white throughout the day on film simulation as a subtle nod to Adam’s love of film, which felt completely right for them.

Film Cameras for Every Guest

Joanna got ready in Grassington, which I had not explored properly before and instantly fell in love with. It is such a beautiful Yorkshire village, and the Airbnb she chose had the most incredible natural light. Her dress from Needle & Thread looked stunning as the fabric caught the light in the room.

In true Adam style, each guest had a little film camera from his own collection to document the day. He even wore one himself and photographed Joanna walking down the aisle, which was such a heartfelt and personal moment. They also created their order of the day and table plan as cyanotypes, which could not have been more perfectly suited to them and their creative roots.

Giggly Energy and a Truly Personal Day

There was such a lovely, giggly energy between Adam and Joanna all day. Joanna barely stopped smiling and their friends brought so much warmth to the celebration. From the soft chapel light to the film inspired details, this Priest’s House wedding felt thoughtful, artistic and completely authentic. The Priest’s House in Skipton really is a gem of a venue in North Yorkshire. I am thrilled to be photographing more weddings there soon!
