Arley Hall Wedding Photographer

Freya and Mark’s wedding at Arley Hall and Gardens was a very autumnal day, filled with personal details and unique touches. Arley Hall and Gardens itself was famously featured as the residence of Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders. I am a big fan, so knowing that Cillian Murphy once walked these halls added a whole other level of excitement for me.

Bridal Prep

The day began in the spacious bridal suite at Arley Hall, where the bridal party had lots of room to prepare. This always helps to get the best prep photos as there’s lots of room for people to move around! I made sure to photograph all the details of Freya’s outfit, as well as a copy of the gorgeous wedding invites. The invites were a reference to Harry Potter. They folded out into a map and had been so well thought out and looked stunning.

Ceremony

Freya and Mark’s ceremony had the beautiful backdrop of the grand rooms at Arley Hall. The ceremony was an emotional one, and Freya’s brother even stood up to do a reading which was a surprise to the rest of the family. The guests watched as they said their vows, and the happy couple walked back down the aisle to the one and only US Office theme tune. I’ve clearly hit my target market here as is is my other favourite TV show.

The Library

One of the highlights of the venue was the library, which is Tommy Shelby’s office in Peaky Blinders. With its old bookshelves and antique furniture, it provided an excellent backdrop for some fun Vogue-style group shots. We even added an extra touch of cigars and whisky, which made me feel even more so like we were on the set of Peaky Blinders. We got some great couple shots in the library too – I couldn’t get enough of it!

The Reception

As the evening approached, we brought out the sparklers for a bit of fun and some epic shots. Everyone joined in and it was a great way to get the party started. Freya, Mark and their guests all danced the night away, which ended with grabbing a pizza from the pizza van – myself included. Overall it was a great day and I can’t wait to shoot at Arley Hall again!
